The Billfish Foundation Tagging Products
Help preserve the future of billfish - join the Billfish Foundation. A tapered 6' stick with tags are used by captains, crews and anglers worldwide to help capture information. This information is used to estimate the billfish's age, growth, movement and more. Make your own tag stick using the starter kit or purchase everything separately. All proceeds will be donated to the Billfish Foundation.
Aftco Tag Stick & Head
Tapered tip for easy handling. Heads thread into the shaft, and are easily replaced. TSH-1 Head fits the NH Marine Fisheries tags with slotted metal heads and "forked" applicators. TSH-2 Head fits the Billfish Foundation TBF tags, and newer NMFS tags with nylon heads designed for "pointed" applicators. Tag Stick 5 ft. length.
Harpoon
A 10' 2 piece harpoon designed with the highest grade of components. Rigid, with a lightweight shaft and a bronze dart head. A must, when you are pursuing the heavy weights: Tuna, Swordfish and Sharks. Available rigged as shown with rigged harpoon dart and harpoon bag. The bag lets you keep all the harpoon components together to help keep you organized. Comes with fastening strap and convenient handles.
Harpoon Dart
4 1/2" Bronze dart used on the shaft of our stainless harpoon. Also available rigged harpoon dart with 4' of 3/32 aircraft cable and ball bearing swivel.
Aftco Fish Bat
Made of super-strong, molded, glass-filled polypropylene and is 19" long, 2.5" wide with a special triangular shape that will not roll around on the deck of a rocking boat. The handle has an aggressive, molded-in textured grip for non-slip performance with wet or slimy hands. It is totally waterproof and corrosion proof, will not scratch or mar decks or gelcoat, and it floats! There is a braided rope safety lanyard and special handle hook to allow the fish bat to be hung from a railing or ladder.
